DataQube (Global) Ltd, developers of the world’s first 5G-ready edge data centre system, together with partner companies Prism Power Ltd and LiquidCool Solutions Inc have been shortlisted for the “Edge Data Centre Project of the Year”. The winners will be announced on 8 December at the DCDAwards Gala Dinner & Ceremony, hosted at the Park Plaza Hotel, central London and broadcast live worldwide.
The nomination demonstrates DataQube’s novel approach to edge data centres through the development of a 5G-enabled solution that delivers the full spectrum of data centre services at the edge in a robust and secure standalone unit that is truly eco-friendly. The system’s person-free layout consumes significantly less power and omits significantly less CO2 compared to conventional facilities because the energy transfer is dedicated solely to computers and this efficient use of space combined with its optimised IT capacity also makes for a smaller physical footprint because less land and raw materials are needed.
“We are really proud to have been shortlisted from such a large pool of entries”, says David Keegan, CEO of DataQube. “The DCD awards are the data centre industry’s equivalent of the Oscars’ and this recognition cements our position as a serious player in the edge data centre landscape and puts DataQube firmly on the map.”
